News & Progress September 2006

Many of you will have already noticed that the access road, car park and footpaths have now been completed successfully and are in use by children walking to and from Knayton School.

The drainage works are also finished as is the construction of the cricket square and football pitch. Along with the remaining 25 acres or so, these will be seeded at the end of this summer and we anticipate playing football and cricket there next season and also that Borrowby Show will be held there in 2007.

In addition to the grant from the Football Foundation, Knayton FC have secured a grant of £5000 from Hambleton District Council under the Voluntary Sports Organisation scheme.

We have appointed an architect to finalise the design for the building that will incorporate a number of environmentally friendly options as well as the key features required by the user groups.

Well done to everyone who has contributed to our success so far.
