Hillside Rural Activities Park secures support from local communities.Hillside Rural Activities Park (HRAP) has had a great response from local residents to the appeal for funding. From a total of 600 letters distributed to the villages of Borrowby, Knayton, Cowesby, Kepwick, Boltby, Felixkirk, Upsall, Thirlby and Kirby Knowle HRAP has so far recieved 33 donations totalling £4,250. With tax rebates under the gift aid scheme this will generate at least a further £1190 giving a total well over £5,000. The team would like to thank all the donors for their generous support. Hopefully, their children, nephews, nieces or grand-children will be amongst those who benefit directly from the facilities in the near future. If you have not yet made a donation and would like to do so please contact one of the numbers below or download a form from the HRAP website. A list of Sponsors and Benefactors is available on the HRAP website. £2,500 has been secured from BP in response to an approach made directly to their public relations company. Competitive quotations for the car park and access road have been received from four local companies. It is hoped that this work will be done once the second half of the land has been secured and the necessary funding is in place. HRAP have retained the services of a Jenny Lambert, a land drainage specialist, to survey the land and to design a scheme based on the planned layout for the facilities. The design incorporates works to reduce the gradients of the football and cricket pitches within the limits of the respective sports governing bodies. Tenders have been issued to 4 local companies for the ground work and drainage scheme. HRAP are approaching professional consultants with a proven track record in helping similar projects to secure funding from the likes of Sport England, the Football Foundation, the LTA and the England Cricket Board….etc. If you would like more information about the project, would like to help or make a donation, please contact either Janet Peckitt (01845 537557) or Moray Finch (01845 537034) or visit www.hrap.co.uk Gift Aid Donation form (pdf)
